Job Description:
We’re searching for an experienced technical writer to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you should have proven experience in a highly technical field, such as software development or data and analytics. For this position, you should demonstrate strong technical and writing skills, flexibility, and adaptability. As a technical writer, you will work with software developers, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to create technical documentation that helps our customers use our products to achieve their goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and recommendations on content management and technical writing best practices and industry standards
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
- Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
- Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language that sets our users up for success
Job Requirements:
- Write for a range of customers, including new and experienced operators, administrators, and developers
- Ensure compliance with documentation styles and standards
- Work with globally distributed teams to identify all documentation requirements, revise, edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
- Manage complex documentation projects and balance multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
- 8+ years of software products industry experience
- Work independently and pair with other writers as required, to create and revise existing technical content in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Communicate highly complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
Qualification & Experience:
- Familiarity with programming languages and APIs
- Experience working with XML, reStructuredText, or Markdown-based documentation systems
- Experience working with Git or similar distributed version control system
- Experience with HTML and CSS
- Experience with Help Docs, or other content management systems
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Experience working with agile project management methodologies
- Experience with Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and AI tools
