Job Responsibilities:

The United Express (UAX) group is responsible for the coordination and execution of portfolio’s day-of and long-term operational strategy and planning. The UAX portfolio is uniquely positioned to manage all aspects of operating an ‘airline within an airline’, including maintenance, performance, contract negotiations, operations, safety and resource planning. As such, this position requires critical strategic thinking to drive and deliver improvements across the organization. As an Intern on the United Express team, you will be responsible to:

• Work with our United Express Flying Partners to identify and track key initiatives that improve performance in support of our core4 service standards (Safe, Caring, Dependable and Efficient)
• Importantly, this role will also be responsible for holding our Partners to key deadlines and performance improvement benchmarks
• Partner with the front-line operation (Hub and line stations) to understand local performance challenges and develop action plans to address these challenges with stations and Partners
• Assist in the scheduling, coordination and delivery of monthly Hub meetings and bi-monthly Partner visits
• Provide ad hoc support for various deep-dive analyses across the portfolio, which may include customer, operational, commercial and financial data analysis

Job Requirements:

• Undergraduate student graduating in fall/winter of 2021 or spring/summer 2022
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner
• Seeks to identify and employ methods to improve existing processes to help organize data and information
• Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Qualification & Experience:

• Previous airline experience and/or passion for the industry
• Experience with Spotfire, Palantir Foundry or Tableau
• Working knowledge of either Python, SQL, R or SAS
