This is an exciting opportunity to work in an Export technical role for one of the world’s largest retailers based in our Hertfordshire head office

Tesco have a thriving export business, exporting UK/local market Tesco products for sale through third party partner supermarkets around the globe

We are looking for someone who is bright, has great attention to detail and passionate about process excellence

As one of three technical managers in the Food Export Technical function, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Tesco products in the markets you lead are shipped safely and meet the legal and technical requirements of the importing country

The role involves working with multiple stakeholders within Team, wider business functions and outside of Tesco

Job Responsibilities:

• Where required by a particular market, coordination of product testing
• Provision of the technical link between the UK/local Category and Export team. Being Export Team ‘go-to’ person for any technical product queries
• Maintenance of Export product databases
• Collation of product data from the Tesco specification system and other sources to support product selection and market registration
• Ensuring that Tesco products are shipped safely and meet the legal and technical requirements of the importing country
• Consultation with our retail partners to agree technical and labelling requirements for the importing market
• Completion of new market supply chain risk assessments to include chill chain review and product management procedures in store
• Provision of the technical link between Tesco Export with our retail partners. Nurture of the Tesco/retail partner technical relationship with a view to improving processes and product quality
• Provision of technical support for Supply Chain/third party consolidation provider. Label and translation management
• Ensuring required due diligence documents are in place in-line with the Technical Blueprint)

Job Requirements:

• Production and presentation of KPI reports
• Development of technical policies and procedures as needed to support technical ways of working
• Monitoring quality and customer feedback and taking action to resolve issues raised. Management of customer complaints
• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
• Data Analysis
• People management
• Microsoft Office
• Project management experience
• Experience of stakeholder management
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Management and development of 1 x direct report (tbc)

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in Export or International trade will be an advantage
• Minimum 3 years experience working in a food technical or related role
• Understanding of end to end Incident Management process
• Understanding of risk and risk assessment
• Degree level science qualification
• General knowledge of food legislation and technical standards
