Tesco Job Application 2024 – Commodity Analyst

Job Description:

As an Associate Business Performance Analyst at Tesco you will deliver actionable analytics (with support from the team and your line manager) to help stakeholders to understand performance of the Online business and inform our Online strategy and tactical activity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Surface at least one analysis per month to unlock value for Online.
• Complete recommended training to support your technical development and manage the agenda for my1-2-1s and personal development sessions.
• Ensure you are using the most suitable data tables, as listed in the data dictionary.
• Engage with the Online analytics community to share and learn.
• Follow ways of working guidelines including those on documenting my analytical approach, code and outputs clearly, sense checking and peer reviewing and sharing work back with stakeholders.
• Receive data briefs via the Online analytics tracker, agree analytical approach with your line manager, deliver accurate, timely insight and recommendations to stakeholders and ensure these are seen and understood by them.
• Make use of existing dashboards and self serve tools for BAU and trial reporting and direct Online stakeholders to these.
• Support with user acceptance testing of new data tables, dashboards and tools.

Job Requirements:

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manipulate data accurately and relate to the business context.
• Ability to engage and gain confidence of stakeholders.
• Ability to show our 5 Tesco Leadership skills, which are: Collaboration, Empathy, Resilience, Innovation and Responsiveness.
• SQL ability very desirable.

Qualification & Experience:

• Tableau experience desirable.
• SQL or other coding/programming experience preferable.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint) to manipulate and share data in a clear and visually appealing way.
• Degree (or equivalent), ideally with numerical content.
