Job Description:

The WiFi Test Design Engineer will be responsible for introducing the technology to WiFi test teams and facilitate to carry out productive WiFi testing while reducing testing time.

The WiFi test design engineer will work closely with WIFI architects to evaluate Sky WiFi devices and propose solutions to improve the end user WiFi experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create the test environment and necessary documentation to support test engineers to carryout WiFi testing
• Stakeholder on onboarding and effectively testing new 802.11 standard features
• Understand new IEEE 802.11 standard features and their implications of adopting in live customer environment
• Develop technical WiFi specification for the Sky CPE’s based on business requirements
• Work closely with Sky CPE vendor to specify WIFI capability, to resolve functional and non-functional issues and fine tune performance to make best product in the market.
• Understand end to end WiFi performance and provide feedback on testing results
• Generate competitive analysis reports
• Interact with vendors and solution providers to introduce new technologies within business
• Support and mentoring sky field engineers on WiFi tools and troubleshooting

Job Requirements:

• Good understating of existing and future IEEE 802.11 wireless technologies and associated deployment challenges
• Experience with designing, deploying, and troubleshooting WiFi in different environments
• Experience with capturing and analysing Wireless (802.11) traffic
• Good understanding of IEEE 802.11 PHY & MAC layer
• Knowledge of different types of WIFI testing and challenges
• Good understanding of different WiFi testing environments and their challenges
• Good understanding of different WIFI testing tools and their challenges
• Experience in testing of CPE ideally focused on home modems
• Understands user experience and factors which may affect user experience
