We are looking for Lead Architect to create common patterns and principles across multiple sprint teams. Technologies in our stack include Snowflake, MicroStrategy, AWS, Containers, Streams, R, Python, Scala, and Java. Used to deliver an integrated data lake in S3, a group wide data warehouse and data services to support algorithmic decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:
- Excellent all-round data warehousing experience including: agile data development; data ingestion pipelines; data modelling; query performance; database administration; data governance; database security
- Notify the Snowflake community of any significant tooling issues as well as remediation options
- Work collaboratively with the Snowflake Community to identify and embed technical improvement opportunities
- Work closely with the wider Architecture community to develop principles, guidelines and best practice approaches around core capabilities
- Comfortable presenting technical concepts, ideas and status updates to senior stakeholders
- Strong data modelling skills, not limited to relational data modelling
- Become an expert on the Snowflake database, providing design and implementation guidance as well as developing and agreeing principles with the wider community.
- Able to work with a varied customer base including Data Engineers, Data Architects, Analysts and Data Scientists
- Experience of data-science, BI, visualisation, or analytical tooling is an advantage
- Create and lead a community around the Snowflake database to implement best practice approaches and operating principles within teams, incorporating amongst other aspects – automation, security, CI/CD, data pipelines, capacity management/cost, performance tuning and monitoring.
