Job Description:

The Northern Pacific Airways Aviation Chief Engineer is responsible for providing oversight to Maintenance and Engineering Tracking system (METS) and support functions to include Engineering, Reliability and Technical standards. This position is involved in planning and coordinating maintenance team duties and activities according to policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Revising the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) manual and managing the revision process to verify all MEL and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) items related to the modification level are embodied into the Company MEL.
  • Confirming aircraft meets requirements of 14 CFR 121.
  • Updating weight and balance data (WBM).
  • Verifying repairs or alterations comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved data.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance inspection program (SMIP).
  • Reviewing Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB).
  • Developing customized procedures for repairs and modifications, as well as inspections addressed in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, understanding the overall impact on operations.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
  • Must always have an exceptionally high level of honesty and integrity while working in a high stress and fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. if focus of bachelor’s degree is a different field of study, a master’s or higher must be in the Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering field.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in Part 121 air carrier operations, ideally comprised of Extended-Range Twin-Engine Operational Performance Standards (ETOPS) and Boeing 757-200 experience.
