Job Description:

Manage all engineering aspects of the divisional engineering program. Oversee capital allocation and expense budgets related to maintenance and energy for division retail facilities and the division office. Responsible for the service levels and performance of in-house and third party maintenance. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation, safety and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal code/ regulations; identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective action is taken; follow all company and store procedures
  • Oversee the project management process for capital and expense projects associated with retail and division building repairs and equipment replacements.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Develop and track division utilities expense budgets; formulate corrective action plans when exceeding budget.
  • Responsible to effectively manage capital and expense budgets and the allocations for building repairs and equipment replacements.
  • Ensure all in-house maintenance staff is effectively trained on safety and EPA compliance.

Job Requirements:

  • Support maintenance Best Practices (e.g., software, procedures, and sourcing).
  • Develop and track division utilities expense budgets; formulate corrective action plans when exceeding budget.
  • Engage and partner with all levels of store operations regarding budget reporting, training, local and corporate initiatives; participate in key division and district meetings.
  • Evaluate and manage the onboarding process for vendors; ensure master services agreements are properly finalized and in place.
  • Oversee and ensure the proper execution of the division’s HVAC/R and non-refrigerated equipment, energy and maintenance programs.
  • Support construction and minor capital teams with project scoping, design criteria and quality control.
  • Travel to division locations regularly to engage staff and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and day-to-day maintenance operations.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work collaboratively with peers
  • Basic financial knowledge; ability to develop and manage budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience frequently make significant accurate decisions without close supervision
  • Proven analytical, conflict management and problem resolution skills
  • 6+ years proven engineering or maintenance experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of computer operating skills; advanced Microsoft Office skills
