Job Description:
This position will manage and oversee a DevOps team with the following responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directly manage, lead, mentor, and provide oversight to the DevOps team, which includes DevOps Engineers and Developers
- Establishes DevOps processes and procedures in cooperation with other teams
- Support ongoing/continuous improvement to the overall DevOps process
- Product owner of the DevOps toolchain, ensuring the platforms meet the needs of the enterprise
- Guide and share technical expertise to increase maturity in DevOps, including movement towards CI/CD
- Collaborate with Architecture, Development, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure execution of the overall DevOps strategy
- Available on-call and after hours as required
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 8 years of experience in Information Technology, with hands-on experience in Web/Mobile Application Development or Systems Engineering
- 5 years of experience leading large projects and/or managing teams
- 3 years of experience in DevOps practices, including enabling pipelines that implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- 3 years of experience working in DevOps capacity supporting development teams creating pipelines, automated deployments, and provisioning resources with Infrastructure as Code capabilities
- 2 years of experience leveraging automation technology such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform
- 2 years of hands-on experience automating creating of cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) on public cloud platforms such a Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or other Agile frameworks.
- Experience managing source control repos including branching, and merging of source code with Git
- Hands-on experience across multiple scripting technologies and tools such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell
- Must have strong collaboration and customer service skills with a desire to work collaboratively with numerous Architecture, Application,
- Engineering, and Security teams
- Must have leadership experience of technical resources, including Developers or Engineers
- Must have a servant leader mindset
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience in directly managing teams a DevOps team
- Experience working with development teams supporting CI/CD pipelines built on Jenkins / Maven or Azure DevOps / Team Foundation Server
- Experience working with GitHub, GitLab, or similar software development platforms
- Experience different build environments supporting other operating systems (Windows and Linux) and application runtime environments such as .NET, .NET Core, or Java
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability for applications
- Hands-on experience provisioning container workloads and knowledge of microservice architectures using Kubernetes for containers
