Nike Summer Internship – Software Engineering Manager

Job Description:

As a Senior Manager Software Engineering for Sports Marketing, you’ll bring a passion for building highly robust software systems which connect our Contracted Athletes and Teams to our product at an unprecedented scale, across all of Nike’s brands, categories and geographies, and give them access to the on-field and off-field product they need to perform at their best. You’ll bring not only deep technical skills, but also the ability to coordinate multiple streams of technical and software development work. You’ll lead by example, promote our agile culture, and be an advocate of new technology and development techniques. Your experience will encompass a full stack development environment, from backend services to front end web presentation. Additionally, you’ll be tasked with building and growing strong teams through the principles of servant leadership.

Job Requirements:

• Strong skills in team leadership and building positive customer relationships
• e-Commerce experience preferred
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively connect with business and technical teams
• 2+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams
• Proven ability to turn strategy into reality through superior execution
• Experience with delivery methodologies (Agile/Scrum) in a fast-paced, complex environment with competing priorities
• Capability to develop technology professionals with high expectations, a collaborative style and a focus on continuous improvement, quality and planning
• Significant knowledge and experience working with serverless and event driven architecture design patterns
• Experience deploying, configuring, and operating cloud-based applications (AWS, etc)
• Four-year Computer Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with the latest front-end and back-end technologies
• Cultivate a culture of security/privacy by design, and drive a DevOps transformation across the team
• Experience and significant knowledge with API design, HTTP fundamentals
