Job Description:

We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant at our Swan Valley Logistics depot in Northampton. The Finance Assistant supports the delivery of transactions and processes within the Finance function at site, ensuring a 5 star service to colleagues and customers.

Our Swan Valley site serves our wholesales business and all of our stores nationwide. On average, it deals with 2.4 million cases per week, which grows to 3.1 million when things get really busy. The site operates as an import centre and stores all kinds of products from baby food to beer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cultivating positive working relationships with key business stakeholders and finance department peers.
• Providing financial information as required.
• Suggesting continuous improvement ideas to ensure that stakeholders’ requirements are fully met and /or exceeded
• Assisting with financial reporting on both a regular and ad hoc basis.
• Participating in projects, providing support for improving business processes and procedures.
• Retaining a customer focus through daily routines

Job Requirements:

• Providing variance analysis and trending techniques
• Producing meaningful commentary to invoice level detail to ensure messages to the wider business are both accurate and timely.
• Ensuring the application of operational and financial controls.
• Generating ideas for improvement in line with the task specific areas of your role.

Qualification & Experience:

• A track record of building good relationships with stakeholders
• Experience of using google sheets or Microsoft Excel
• Experience of operating in a Finance function in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and proficient analytical and numerical skills
• A strong appreciation of customer service with an ability to understand queries and respond effectively and efficiently, with an understanding of delivering to deadlines
