Job Description:

The Contracts Manager will provide general contracting support to the Johnson & Johnson Vision business, with primary focus on the Vision Care contact lens and consumer eye health businesses, and related services. The position has a direct reporting line to the Vice President, Law.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Contracts Manager will partner with business clients, legal colleagues, outside counsel and other functions within the company, as appropriate, to support business opportunities.
• At the same time, this role will ensure compliance with legislation, industry guidelines and internal policies.
• Additionally, this position will proactively pursue, assess and, where appropriate, advance a wide range of proposed business initiatives and materials, including in the areas of information technology, connected commerce, software, cloud, data analytics, sales and marketing, regulatory affairs, health care compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, business development, medical device hardware, and clinical trials.
• It is expected that the Contracts Manager will have strong verbal, written, negotiation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• The Contracts Manager will also have the ability to communicate and collaborate well at all levels of the organization.
• This individual must also be capable of working effectively and efficiently without close supervision.

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in the healthcare, technology or other regulated industry is preferred.
• Proven willingness to listen and learn, and a consistent record of making and respectfully explaining appropriate decisions (even when this leads to tough business discussions).
• At least 7 years of experience in the contract management field relevant to the key responsibilities set forth above (with an emphasis on drafting, reviewing, redlining, revising, and negotiating agreements), and demonstrating the ability to read and interpret legal language, including identifying and mitigating risk/exposure points are required.
• Exhibits integrity and willingness to challenge business partners on issues arising through the contracts process, while also being able to complete matters with minimal supervision or direction using independent analytical judgment.
• Skills and flexibility to work across business functions and teams located in multiple time zones and geographies.
• JD, MBA or equivalent experience is required. Bar membership in the United States is preferred.
• Ability to travel if needed, up to 10%, within the U.S.
• Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with and support sophisticated business clients; capable of thinking critically to resolve complicated situations and issues.
