Job Description:

This position is an Operator Trainee at the Pascagoula Refinery. This position operates on shift, assigned processing, treating, and/or stock handling equipment either manually or with instrumentation. Candidates will be required to successfully demonstrate the ability to climb heights up to 200 feet and successfully satisfy confined space entry testing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Manual operations that include connecting and disconnecting cargo hoses and load arms on railcars, tank trucks, ships, and barges.  Manual transfer of chemicals from bags and drums.
• Requires frequent and extended time outdoors in all climates and in proper personal protective equipment.
• Operation of manual and automatic valves, meters, pumps and transfer systems to handle product movement between tanks and process units.
• Operation of process units utilizing a wide range of control systems and equipment that includes refrigeration units, mixers, heat exchangers, pumps, vacuum systems filters, and atmospheric and pressurized storage tanks.
• Operation of our utility systems that include power generation by gas fired turbines, boilers, air compressors, hot oil units, incinerator furnaces, firewater and cooling water systems, boiler feedwater treatment and effluent water treatment systems.
• Performs other assigned duties such as maintenance, repairs, housekeeping and emergency response requirements

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift, overtime as required and on-call.
• This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability.
• Successful candidates will be expected to satisfy all the requirements associated with the Refinery’s Formal Operator Training Program within 3 years of their hire date

Qualification & Experience :

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associate’s/Technical Degree from a Process Technology or Technology Program OR candidate must have 2 years of any type of work experience. Military experience is counted as work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
