Job Description:
The Treasury Operations Liquidity team is an integral part of Treasury Operations and provides Intraday Liquidity monitoring and management services at Central Bank, ICSD and Agent Bank level across the Barclays Group. This includes ensuring sufficient liquidity is available for all time critical and routine business & client payments as well as closely interacting with Treasury Front Office stakeholders when required to access additional liquidity sources. The team works very closely with the Funding and Analytics teams within Treasury Operations to ensure holistic support for all intraday and end-of-day cash management is provided to Business Units and Clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and deliver opportunities to optimise our peak liquidity usage intraday in all currencies in order to promote efficient liquidity management
- Providing Treasury and business units with projected funding requirements and minimize residual end of day balances through active monitoring and execution.
- Support liquidity requirements across the Group Agent Bank and ICSD network to ensure efficient and timely settlement of cash and securities activity at custodians and correspondent banks
- Monitor & manage liquidity requirements for Barclays International (BI) and Barclays UK (BUK) to enable efficient and timely settlement of payments across our central banks
Job Requirements:
- Cash consolidation and mobilisation across the network of cash and securities linked cash accounts within tight deadlines.
- Provide funding projections and actual funding requirements to trading desks, resulting in the most efficient use on Firm cash balances (i.e. invest long positions and cover short positions).
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with related Front Office, Finance, IT and Operations areas
- Partner with related Operations areas to implement best practices across Operations, avoiding repetition of errors, and driving down cost accordingly.

- Support business lines by providing data to identify funding drivers and projection swings
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong business and operational knowledge including understanding what drives liquidity requirements
- Degree or equivalent, concentrating in Economics or Finance or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience of the relevant business lines and processes including liquidity management, treasury, securities, financing, network management and collateral is advantageous though strong knowledge in other areas is applicable.
- Proven approach to control / risk management across BAU processes
