Barclays Internship 2024 Opportunities – US Finance Tax & Treasury Analyst

Job Description:

As a Barclays Tax and Treasury Analyst, you will become part of the Finance, Tax and Treasury Team and, you will work with audit colleagues as a valued member of the team supporting the delivery of audits and the overall delivery of the BIA (Barclay’s Internal Audit) Audit Plan. BIA aims to provide independent, reliable, valued, insightful and timely assurance to the Board and executive management and in accordance with the international standards definition of internal auditing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Executing Treasury and Finance audit plan, performing audit testing, citing audit work papers and supporting the evaluation of designing and operating effectiveness of controls
• Supporting the AO and VP in writing high quality observations and audit reports, as well as helping identify, assess & document risks, audit needs, and continuous monitoring
• Supporting data analytics (DA) testing in audit projects and working with DA specialists
• Applying Agile methodology, and updating the AO and VP, and audit team with work progress and observations
• Taking on additional tasks as requested by VP/Directors/Managing Directors
• Supporting the Audit Owner (AO) and Vice President (VP) in scoping the audit, where necessary, and identifying, assessing & documenting risks and controls
• Performing issue validation and support validation of regulatory issues, in a timely manner with quality results
• Providing suggestions of ways to improve your work, as well as ways to address control issues

Job Requirements:

• Strong understanding of major bank Finance or Treasury management related processes
• Master Degree or industry qualifications (e.g. CPA, CIA, CFA, FRM, CISA, etc)
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL/SAS or other programing language used in data analytics
• Good understanding of the evolving regulatory environment

Qualification & Experience:

• 2+ years’ experience of internal audit, external audit, in a business role of Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control, or Treasury function or equivalent fields
• Exposure to end-to-end audits and/or controls assessment and strong risk and control understanding
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of services
• Experience working in investment banking and/or financial services industry
