Job Description:
To provide extensive editorial, operational and administrative input into the Acquisitions department across all of the wholly owned channels, platforms and services. Working alongside the Heads of Acquisitions, the SVP Sky Networks and the Director of Acquisitions and the Acquisitions Managers, the Acquisitions Executives help secure the best acquired content for the channels (including Sky DE & Italia where required) as well as ensuring the smooth running of various departmental systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Distributing to colleagues around the business screening links, ensuring that our acquisitions are screened and effectively promoted once acquired
- Screening new programmes, reading scripts or treatments and advising (as part of a team) on their suitability for the business for the Sky Entertainment channels
- Maintain various tracking documents for the department
- Negotiation of deals/deal support/shadowing (depending on level of experience)
- To deputise for the Acquisitions Manager where appropriate (depending on experience)
- Liaising with our content suppliers to acquire programming information for various teams around the business including Scheduling, Marketing, Finance and Legal
- Adhoc admin support for the department
- Communicating and circulating information about the new acquisitions – TX dates in the US/ratings/new media rights/materials availabilities etc.
Job Requirements:
- A keen interest and/or experience in the arts is advantageous
- You have a good business head, as well as first class organisational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and problem solve.
- You have a demonstrable knowledge of both scripted and unscripted acquired programming and the wherewithal to track down international programming
Qualification & Experience:
- You have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all aspects of a task or project are dealt with.
- You will thrive in the dynamic and fast paced environment of Acquisitions, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
- You will love working collaboratively and will thrive in a busy, lively team environment – a can do, flexible, attitude is must
