Job Description:

It’s an exciting time at Barclays. We’re driving change to be the leader in the digital banking and how people interact with money, which is why our Channels Engineering team is key. Channels Engineering are responsible for the delivery from initial idea through to implementation of the features used by both Barclays customers and colleagues. The multi-channel applications are provided across web, mobile, telephony and contact center platforms. As an Automation Tester, you will be tasked with testing Java based multichannel applications within our “best in class” Channels Engineering team as we drive towards a fully automated Agile testing function.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will be challenging innovation by recognizing newly arising opportunities for improving customer satisfaction
• You will be ensuring defects are kept to a minimum across both Functional and Automated Testing
• You will be promoting and driving stewardship and application best practices within the development team, improving the delivery of software products
• You will be using your understanding of Agile to reduce the feedback cycle for developers to enable superior code quality
• You will be working to facilitate E2E testing within a Test/Behaviour Driven Development environment
• You will be assisting in the construction of testing frameworks, advising on tooling usage and effectiveness
• You will be managing business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within the overall business solution, challenging incomplete or unclear requirements
• You will be building testing tools with modern tools and practices, e.g. Cypress and Contract Testing

Job Requirements:

• Jira or similar ALM tools, e.g. Confluence or Git
• Good experience in Digital or Web Automation and automated test data creation across multiple browsers, using Cucumber and Gherkin BDD implementation tools and Selenium
• Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration tools (preferably Jenkins) and deployment tools and practices, including Cypress and BrowserStack or similar
• Ability to code (JavaScript and Java) as well as knowledge of JQuery, JSON and XML

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience of working within Financial Services or within a regulatory driven change environment
• ISEB/ISTQB Qualifications
• Micro-services/Domain Driven Architectures experience
