Amgen Careers – Head of Global Security

Job Description:

The Head of Global Security at Amgen is part of the Human Resources leadership team and reports to the EVP, Human Resources. The role is responsible for developing and executing exceptional Security strategy for assets and staff with Global oversight of Amgen facilities. The expectation of this position is to provide leadership, oversight and expertise in matters related to the protection of staff, facilities and corporate brand.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with Amgen’s Crisis Management teams to advise and ensure seamless process implementation as well as appropriate responses to both minor and major crisis
• Leads a global team to assure quality, consistency and efficiency of security processes for operations/infrastructure, prevention and crisis response inclusive of facilities and staff safety
• Leads the Security Investigations team to ensure compliance and safety
• Leads senior executive protection team
• Represents and liaises with local, state and federal law enforcement, intelligence agencies and other related government agencies
• Leads the Threat Management team and develops an intelligence-based threat assessment process to support Amgen’s global sites and operations
• Builds and maintains a network of security vendors, resources and consultants to augment existing capabilities and use these resources when appropriate

Job Requirements:

• Experience planning and managing security for large events, budget development and management
• Experience with criminal investigations with a clear understanding of the investigative process and managing threats to persons and/or organizations
• Experience developing security strategies in a private industry environment
• Executive leadership skills operating in a diverse and highly collaborative environment
• Possesses the knowledge, skills and ability to understand the current threat environment and conducts meaningful threat assessments
• Minimum of 10 years of Private Security experience with at least 5 years at the leadership level OR a minimum of 10 years of Federal, State or Local Law enforcement experience at the leadership level

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of Security experience AND
• 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
• Master’s degree and 10 years of Security experience OR
• Doctorate degree and 6 years of Security experience OR
