Job Description:

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Job Responsibilities:

• must complete training and obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 90 days of his or her start date in the position, unless extended by the Director of Transportation and Maintenance
• must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical (including a drug test) for intrastate drivers within two weeks of accepting the contingent job offer (additional time may be provided if a physical condition is correctable)
• must obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) within two weeks of accepting the contingent job offer

Job Requirements:

• be able to read and interpret technical manuals
• be able to read, write and solve math problems
• be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• be able to work nights
• be at least 21 years old
• be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
• not have an unacceptable drug test result on a Publix or company-sponsored drug test within the previous three years

Qualification & Experience:

• one year of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience.
• basic knowledge of welding techniques (aluminum and steel)
• have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components
• current Deerfield Distribution associate
• have at least two or more years of medium/heavy duty truck trade school or equivalent experience
• knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting
