Job Description:

The Administrative Specialst – Store Artist draws, paints, or computer generates illustrations and text for use by various media by performing the following duties:

Job Responsibilities:

• Draws, paints, or uses computer to create graphic material and lettering to be used for title, background, logo, and other visual layouts for printed media
• Selects type, draws lettering, lays out material, or performs related duties
• Formulates concept and renders illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, and imagination
• Other duties may be assigned
• Creates printed media including, but not limited to, signs, flyers, brochures, posters, chalkboard drawings, ad copy (camera ready), and related materials

Job Requirements:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, walk for distances, stand for extended periods of time, and move from standing to sitting quickly and frequently
• Ability to be self-managed with lots of imagination and creativity
• Handle multiple tasks and stressful situations; meet deadlines and maintain composure in a fast paced environment
• Work under minimal supervision; planning and organizational skills

Qualification & Experience:

• Typing skills and familiarity with commercial graphics
• Strong illustrating and rendering skills
• Understanding of layout, composition design rules and color theory
• Strong lettering skills, i.e. calligraphy or hand lettering
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark XPress; Mac experience
