Publix Jobs -Structural Engineer

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide structural engineering design of Publix retail prototypes and serve as an in-house corporate structural consultant on all structural issues, including non-retail related offices, Manufacturing, Distribution and other Publix properties.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participating in the design and production of construction documents for new prototypes and site-specific projects
• Reviewing shop drawing submittals for all new stores and related testing and inspection reports
• Reviewing the work of the structural engineers for completion and compliance with Publix standards
• Participating in the signing and sealing of structural related documents

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• At least six (6) years of experience as a Structural Engineer
• Must be licensed in the state of Florida as an Engineer
• Knowledge of proper building design processes and technologies
• Knowledge of building codes
• Structural engineering skills
• Ability to draft in various CAD programs
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
• Organizational skills
• Time management and scheduling skills
• Willingness to travel to onsite locations
• Ability to work a variable schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualification & Experience:

• Ten (10) or more years of experience working as a Structural Engineer
• NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) member
• Ability to be registered by comity as a Structural Engineer within the states Publix operates
